That's who we are at GOLD + ARROW.
Artistic Director & Master Stylist
After getting her start in 1998, Gretchen studied around the world training at Bumble and bumble.University, Goldwell Color Academy, Wella Academy, Jamison Shaw and Vidal Sassoon in London. Her eye for design, passion for hair and love of the Pacific Northwest led her to found Gold+Arrow in 2011. She continues to lead a team of diversely talented stylists as Gold+Arrow's Artistic director. She splits her time between Portland and Bend, where she will be leading a new team at Gold+Arrow Salon Bend.
Courtney comes to us from Los Angeles where she has worked as a Master Stylist and director of education at Giuseppe Franco Beverly Hills for over 15 years.
After attending the Vidal Sassoon academy Courtney apprenticed for some major names in the hair industry. She then traveled the country teaching cutting and coloring as a design team member and platform artist for L'Oreal. She feels incredibly lucky to have had some truly amazing experiences in the hair industry from fashion and editorial, to television and music. She says she wouldn't change a thing.
Lately Courtney has realized that her favorite part of the job is working one on one with clients to achieve the very best haircut and color possible for them specifically. She loves soft, natural, wash and wear shapes but would never shy away from precision cuts and clean lines. She appreciates all aspects of color from beachy balayage to creative hues.
Courtney is completely in awe of the natural beauty here in Oregon and takes any opportunity she can to get her family out into nature. She says she has found inspiration in so many different places throughout the years (the beach, the streets, history, music) but currently can't think of anything more inspiring than a day in the Gorge
As a stylist, it's simple for Jenna: the goal is always to make the person in her chair look and feel beautiful.
Throughout her lifetime, Jenna found that she had a natural talent for the craft of hairdressing. Before turning her passion into a career, friends and family sought out her advice for cut, color and fashion advice.
Never turning down and opportunity to advance her skills, Jenna seeks out education at every turn. Staying current is considered an absolute "must" for her. Incorporating classic styles with modern day twists keep her clients current and ever evolving. Balayage, hand-painting, and bright colors are a few of her favorite techniques.
Adventure remains a priority for Jenna which we feel contributes to her fresh, glowing energy. Her infectious smile and positive outlook is contagious to all of us here at Gold + Arrow.
Taking a genuine interest in her clients needs; Jenna works with each individual to achieve their hair goals.
Born and raised in the Northwest, Lana started her career by moving to Los Angeles to attend the world-renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy. Because her true passion lay in color, Lana chose to become a color specialist to master the craft. She went on to work as a color specialist in Sassoon Salon San Francisco and then as a full-time color educator and platform artist for Vidal Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles. Missing the Northwest, the one-on-one connection with clients and the ability to wear sweaters and jackets year-round, Lana now resides in Portland. She's ecstatic to be at Gold + Arrow where she can focus her talents on providing each client the perfect tailored, effortless and individualized haircolor. Always striving to perfect her craft, Lana regularly takes advanced color education classes as well as continues to teach as a balayage educator.

In the age when MTV played music videos and the Style Network aired round the clock runway shows, MJ realized her love for art in fashion form. She found a common cord that played throughout print, runway, and moved the fashion industry - hair and makeup.
Joining the hair industry in 2004, MJ has refined her skills with workshops from from Robert Cromeans, Angus Mitchell, Howard McLaren, Masaki, Great Lengths Extensions, and local educators alike. Traveling to Bumble and Bumble's University in Manhattan, NY has remained a favorite for renewing skills, passion, and focus. Staying trye to her love of obscurities, she collects inspiration from Alexander McQueen's dark sartorial stories, the crispness & edge of a Tom Ford campaign, and the ruggedness of "everyday people" - a.k.a. street style.
Former Artistic Director, Bumble and Bumble Network Educator and salon owner in Southern Oregon, MJ brings 12+ years of experience to Portland, OR. Cultivating an intuitive approach to hair, she specializes in Japanese dry cuts, razor cutting, and freehand color. Always an advocate to longer lengths, short coiffures and men's styling allow her to push creative limits. Hair should instill a sense of self assurance and confidence in the wearer. Through proper guidance and hair care instructions, together, you can expect to achieve your hair goals.
